Joshua: Joshua is Feyahn’s slave and human lover. He is a complicated thing, slave yet master, ignorant, but at times the more knowledgeable of the two. In The Kahbid-Dai, he finds out just how much Feyahn cares for him. In the novel continuing their story, Joshua will find out how much that love can endure. Ty: Ty is one of Feyahn's slaves, a young human driven mad by the trials of his enslavement before coming to Feyahn's household. Though insane, the boy recognizes Feyahn as his savior, and the results of his devotion are not all favorable. Reth: Another of the “demons.” Reth is the epitome of what humans expect their conquerors to be: he is cruel, he is sadistic, and he is thoughtless towards the welfare of others, especially humans. He is also Feyahn’s most hated rival, and privy to more information than Feyahn has the right to dream. The Hakkan: The Hakkan is a figure of new human religious mythology. He is a savior figure, the one who is destined to come and free their humans, destroying the “demons” in the process. The newest, youngest generation of humans is more atheistic than their parents and grandparents. These mortals, including Joshua, are more inclined to resignation for their fate, and so consider the Hakkan a foolish legend meant only to give false comfort to those who can’t release themselves. More characters will be added to this list as they make themselves known. |
